Windows VEDA Permissions


  1. Navigate to the folder where you installed VEDA
    1. Go to Start/This PC

    2. Navigate to your installed Drive (Say, you installed VEDA in D:\InstallSoftwares).
      Double click to open D:\ and navigate to your install folder

    3. There you shall find a folder named 'VEDA'


  2. Find out who your current user is
    1. Click on Windows Start button and type ‘cmd’

    2. Right click on the suggestion that appears like the figure below and click on 'Run As Administrator'

      If you have User Account Control enabled in Windows, Select Yes at the dialog box, which asks
      "DO YOU WANT TO ALLOW THIS PROGRAM TO MAKE CHANGES ON YOUR COMPUTER".
    3. A command line console opens

    4. Type >whoami
      whoami window
    5. The result is your Current System Operator. You have to set permissions for this user

  3. Right click on VEDA folder and Click on Properties

  4. Go to Security Tab
    Veda Properties

    Each user is assigned one or more of the following permissions:


  5. Select Edit
    Select Edit Option

  6. Permissions for VEDA folder


  7. Select Full Control and Modify and click on Apply.
    Modify is auto-selected after selecting Full Control.

    Guaranteeing Permissions for your User

    This step grants the sufficient rights to the user you wish to run VEDA from.

  8. Click OK
    You will be brought back to the Security Tab.

  9. You should now be able to view the newly added user in the Security Tab.
    Click Ok at the Security Tab as well
