VEDA-FE and VEDA-BE


INSTALLATION STEPS

  1. From the account who will be using the VEDA Application(s), create a folder called as VEDA and assign Full Permissions to him. Windows VEDA Permissions has all the details on assigning user permissions.
  2. Download the VEDA-TIMES Installer
  3. Place the latest downloaded VedaInstaller.exe in the VEDA folder you created. If you are using an Antivirus software, add an exclusion of the VedaInstaller.exe.
    Not adding an Antivirus exception will cause unforeseen errors!
  4. Double click to open the Veda Installer (From the VEDA Folder you just placed it in). Select 'Yes', if prompted by the User Account Control Dialogue Box. VEDAInstaller dialogue box should open as depicted below:

  5. Description of VEDA Installer
    The Installer has TWO installation options available, namely:

    LOCATION OF INSTALLATION: Depending upon the chosen installation option, VEDA installer selects the partition with maximum available space for installation, as the default option. Choosing the default option is recommended to avoid space constraints faced later.

    You may choose to install VEDA in any partition available. To do so, simply select the dropdown list, next to the ‘Choose Drive to install VEDA’ label, and choose the partition you wish to install VEDA in.

    Please Note -> If an existing copy of VEDA exists on your computer, VEDAInstaller reports that an 'Existing Instance of VEDA at <location>', where <location> is the directory of previous VEDA installation of VEDA on your system.

  6. After configuring the installation directory and selecting the type of installation, select Install button to begin installation of selected components. A dialogue box, as shown below, should appear.

  7. After the installation is successfully completed, the VEDA Installer reports an ‘Installation completed successfully’ message (as shown below). The selected software components should be installed on your computer and desktop shortcuts should appear.
